TECAR THERAPY

Tecar Therapy is a physical therapy that is part of the endogenous thermotherapy, able to significantly reduce recovery and rehabilitation time by stimulating the activation of all the body's natural repair processes

HOW DOES TECAR THERAPY WORK?

Tecar therapy is a form of endogenous thermotherapy based on the principle of capacitive and resistive energy transfer (Capacitive-Resistive Diathermy) and it  has an effect within the biological tissues, activating the body's natural repairing and anti-inflammatory processes from within.

Tecar Therapy is a physical therapy that is part of the endogenous thermotherapy, able to significantly reduce recovery and rehabilitation time by stimulating the activation of all the body's natural repair processes.

All this thanks to the application of radiofrequency current, that causes a thermal reaction in the tissues that stimulates the body's natural healing response with immediate anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects on muscles, tendons, cartilage or bones ligaments.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TECAR THERAPY?

TECAR Therapy uses (Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive) technology to promote faster healing. By delivering radio-frequency energy to the injured tissues, TECAR therapy stimulates circulation, reduces pain, and accelerates the body's natural recovery process. It can reduce inflammation , increase mobility and speeds up  physical recovery.

HOW MANY SESSIONS OF TECAR I NEED?

use of TECAR THERAPY

Therefore, the amount of sessions necessary depends on the severity of the patient's condition and how they respond to the treatment. For acute conditions, 3-5 sessions is usually sufficient but there may be more sessions necessary for chronic conditions.

IS TECAR THERAPY SAFE AND EFFECTIVE?

A recent systematic review highlighted that TECAR therapy was an effective approach for the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders and it has been effective on reducing pain, increases range of movement and facilitates performance.

There are no side effects, and TECAR therapy is innocuous to the human body and very pleasant. However, when very high temperatures are reached, particularly for patients with sensitive skin, there can be some transient redness and or tingling in the skin. Our physiotherapist will go through this with you.
